The Real Amazon
It doesn’t get any more of the beaten track than an adventure in Acre, the westernmost part of the Brazilian Amazon. You will not find smooth highways or five star hotels, but if you want to see the real people that live in this area. This is the place to go.
You will get to visit a community only connected with civilization by the river. They are not indigenous, they are traditional rubber tappers. This people make their living from extracting rubber from the natural forests. So for them protecting the forest is paramount. They have learned to live in harmony with the forest and have developed small subsistence agriculture of cassava and other vegetables to feed themselves causing the least possible harm on the environment.
We have put together this trip following a request from someone that want to see the real amazon. If this is what tickles your fancy, get in touch and we can get you on the road.
