Teaching English is an area that we didn’t think we would work on until our partner in the Brazilian Amazon requested it. English speaking in Brazil is a rare commodity. If you have ever travelled in rural Brazil, you will know that most people will not understand you if you don’t speak in Portuguese or some adapted form of Spanish language. The reason for that is because Brazilians live very happy in their own vast country without having to interact much with the rest of the world.
However, the internet and recent foreign interest in the country has flagged up the need to understand English. This is increasingly important for the younger generations. So we want to assist our partners in the local community in the Amazon to improve their knowledge of English.
At this stage we are just running a pilot to ascertain what are the needs of the community, so if you have any knowledge of teaching or the idea of teaching English as a second language appeals to you. Why don’t you give it a go and come to Brazil to teach English!!! Take a look at the project info. Or get in touch.
